College Credit Plus (CCP)
Starting Fall 2015;previously Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)
College Credit Plus at Kent State Geauga and the Regional Academic Center
The College Credit Plus program was recently established by the State of Ohio to replace PSEO and Dual Enrollment Options. The program is designed to allow college-ready students, grades 7-12 who qualify for college admission, the opportunity to earn high school and college credit. College Credit Plus can include courses offered on a college campus, online or at the high school for which credit is awarded from the college. Knowing that college readiness is a requirement, Kent State at Geauga and the Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg requires all students interested in College Credit Plus to submit ACT or SAT scores or schedule an Accuplacer Reading Comprehension and Writing Composition placement test on campus. To schedule a placement test call the student services office at RAC/Twinsburg: 330-888-6400 or Burton: 440-834-4187. These scores are used to determine college readiness for our new students. The state has committed significant resources to developing College Credit Plus. The goal is to ensure that students graduate high school having completed more rigorous coursework. Students will be able to transition reliably and seamlessly from high school to college.
